I have stayed at every 4 to 5 Star hotel in Cairns and surrounding areas and as a quadriplegic there are a number of things that I look for:

  •       The hotel door swings open easy.
  •       The shower has no lip and is big enough to allow my Carers to get around all sides  of my shower chair.
  •       The bed is high enough underneath to allow my hoist to roll under.
  •       There is no step out to the balcony.

Although none seem to be perfect, below are the few I can personally recommend:

The Sebel Reef House – Palm Cove

 Sheraton Mirage – Port Douglas

 Mantra Esplanade – Cairns

Green Island Resort – Green Island

Kewarra Beach Resort – Kewarra Beach
